Preservation & Education are the goals of the Friends of Cape Blanco. Membership
fees provide a portion of our funding for various preservation projects, and our
Volunteers are key in preparing displays and interpretive materials used by Hosts
(provided by Oregon Parks & Recreation) to guide tours through the historic
Hughes House.
The Friends participate as a full partner on the Cape Blanco Management team,
which includes the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Oregon Parks and Recreation,
Confederated Tribes of the Siletz, Coquille Indian Tribe and Curry County. The
team manages Cape Blanco Lighthouse preservation, interpretation and tours.
Interest piqued? Join the Friends! Many opportunities exist within our
organization from volunteering to conduct tours once a month, to preparing
newsletters and working on our various projects. Even a simple membership is a
valuable contribution, not to mention a membership perk of 10% off merchandise
sold in our gift shops.
Please write or call us today for membership materials.
